In this video, I bust into a blues interlude coming out of the song “Kill That.” This footage was shot live at Mains-D’Oeuvres in Saint-Ouen, which is located right outside of Paris. The journey continues on tour as opener and keyboardist for The Coup’s Sorry To Bother You European tour.
Daily Dosage: Euro Edition #11 – Kev Choice – “Kill That/Blues Piano Interlude” Live at Mains-D’Oeuvres in Saint-Ouen, France (Video)27 Oct
Kev Choice recently linked up with producers G Koop and O-Man and dropped a verse for their live YouTube series. In each video it shows the two producers making a beat and bringing in an M.C, to rhyme over the finished product. It’s a real good look into the creative process of two talented musicians and producers, and Kev Choice drops a dope 16 at the end.
Check Out Kev Choice displaying his freestyle skills with Partner-in-Rhyme “Zumbi” of Zion I at a show on January 28th in the Bay Area. This footage was taken in San Francisco at The “True Skool 12th Anniversary” Party, that featured Black Thought as the headliner, a host of the Bay Area’s top DJ’s from Sake-1 to Davey D, and an enthusiastic crowd of Bay Area Hip-Hop heads.
“I DON’T WALK, I FLY”-by Kev Choice, directed by Samm Styles and Brian Storm
Kev Choice hits us with his “debut” video, “I Don’t Walk, I Fly,” the artist’s self-proclaimed motto. The song was recorded during his “Daily Dosage” series — also known as his song a day series — for which he completed and uploaded 60 songs in 60 days made available to fans as free downloads on his website during that period.
The video for “I Don’t Walk, I Fly,” captures Kev Choice in his most comfortable and natural settings — in the studio, on the piano, on the mic, and out and about soaking up the vibes and beauty of his hometown Oakland, California and the San Francisco Bay Area. On the meaning of the song, Kev Choice expresses “I don’t have time to walk and get to my goals and destinations in life, its time to fly!”
Receiving accolades from fans and media alike, the SF Weekly paper reported that the series “gives Bay Area concerns a beat” and “remains the Bay’s dedicated resource for musical coverage of timely events and attitudes…”
This incredibly well-rounded MC/Pianist/Producer also has an impressive resume as an in-demand Keyboardist for Dwele, The Martin Luther Experience, Too $hort, Goapele and (formerly) Lauryn Hill and DJ Quick. His resume demonstrates that he is on a mission to continuously take his craft to a higher level and elevate his game.
Kev Choice put on a display of his piano and lyrical talents for the first time in ATL and had the crowd rocking with him from the first note. In his ATL debut, Kev performed his classic “Hello, World” an instrumental version of “I Can’t Help It” by Michael Jackson, and his song “The Best”. This video has recieved over 20,000 hits on youtube! Check it Out!
For those who missed the Kev Choice Ensemble’s October 26th, 2009 headlining debut at Yoshi’s in Oakland, California, you can still catch all of the amazing energy that we all experienced on this special night.
